My Paintings.. A chance encounter.
Ever since, I have always wanted to paint! I was happy with my drawings, but whenever I saw beautiful paintings from Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Fernando Amorsolo, and Juan Luna, there is a feeling of me wanting to be like them.
When I was in High School, my older brother had a local visual art group that I wanted to join. The problem is they don't accept High Schoolers, only College students. When the time I was a College student I have already moved to another place, and as the time passed by I had forgotten the thought ever joining the visual art group I have always wanted to join. It was only when I decided to transfer school, after 2 years due to financial problems, that I was able to join.
This is a series of paintings I did as practice for my portraiture. I've been doing landscape paintings ever since, I have always wanted to learn portraiture. You can do so much with portraits, both artistically and financially. But it's so hard to make good, realistic portraits with acrylic paints but I know with enough practice it is very much possible.
This one creeps me out whenever I saw this in my tablet. :P
It's a little rough. My 2nd eye practice actually. I see some improvements on the eyelid, but the eyelashes needs more improvement.
My third Eye Practice. more details this time than the last one. I love the pupils and the wet effect. But the eyelashes and eyebrows really needs more improvement. -.-
This one is the most realistic Eye I've done so far in the series, in my opinion. I finally got the flesh tones right. The veins in the eyes and the pupil looks good, but still the eyelashes! -.-
I really need a good fine, pointed brush.
My First lip practice. I never thought lips could be so complicated to paint! You got to hit the right colors and contrast to give it a more realistic effect because I tend to over highlight like t. This one really need a lot of improvements.
I got excited and moved on to the nose practice. This one got lots of revisions.I really need to study first the contours of the nose to determine its shadows, shadings and highlights.
Overall I really need to practive more! Portraits are very complicated. Each portrait should be unique as much as the subject. Each person has unique features that should be captured in each portrait paintings.
